Fleas and ticks
Fleas and ticks start with the pets' routine
We treat the house and the yard edge. For the animals, ask your vet.
Fleas ride in on a dog or cat and live in carpet, bedding and shaded yard edges. Ticks wait in tall grass and leaf litter along fence lines and wood edges. We ask where your pets go before we plan the visit, then write down what we did and how long to keep them out of treated areas.

Our steps
What we do, in four steps
- 01
Step 1: Ask about the pets
Where they sleep, where they go outside, what your vet is already doing.
- 02
Step 2: Inspect inside and out
Carpet, bedding areas, shaded yard edges and leaf litter.
- 03
Step 3: Treat where it matters
The areas the pets use, in a plan you've read, following the label.
- 04
Step 4: Check and adjust
A follow-up visit two to three weeks later, because the life cycle runs longer than one visit.
Your part
Before we come, and after we leave
Before the visit
Vacuum carpets and wash pet bedding on the warmest setting the fabric allows
Ask your vet about treatment for the animals
Move toys and bowls out of the rooms we'll treat
Mow and rake the yard edge if you can
After the visit
Keep pets out of treated areas for the time on the report
Keep vacuuming for two weeks, and empty the bag outside
Check pets daily after walks
Tell us what you see at the follow-up
Questions about this one
Do you treat the pets?
No. Your vet decides what is right for your animals, and we plan around it.
How long will it take?
Most homes need two or three visits over several weeks. It varies with the infestation and the season.
What about the yard?
We start with what holds ticks: leaf litter, tall grass and the edge between lawn and woods. Treatment, if any, goes there and not across the lawn.
Plan it around the pets
Tell us who lives in the house, and we'll plan the visit around them.
